Job Description
As part of our US expansion, Beam is looking for Hybrid Mechanics to join our team. This role is ideal for mechanically-inclined operations professionals that want to broaden and build their career experiences beyond a traditional mechanic role.
As a Hybrid Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing regular maintenance and repairs on our fleet of electric vehicles, ensuring our fleets optimal performance and uptime. You will also participate in field operations, assisting with vehicle deployments, retrievals, battery management, in-field repairs and supporting Beam city events.
Key Responsibilities
● Warehouse Repairs and Asset Management
○ Execute daily vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
○ Follow procedures to ensure your repairs meet quality and safety regulations
○ Manage parts & tool inventory at your mechanic station
○ Assist with the rotation of scooters and warehouse flow
○ Support battery management where applicable by ensuring accurate documentation, safety measures, and quality checks are completed
● Field Operations
○ Drive an operations van while assisting with deployments, retrievals and battery swaps
○ Perform preventative maintenance on our vehicles by identifying and completing small repairs including but not limited to brake adjustments and tire inflation
○ Conduct on-foot patrols of designated areas to ensure vehicle parking compliance, detect and report uncommon issues and situations related to our vehicles
○ Interact with the local community to find and rescue vehicles in need - with the ability to use de-escalation skills when appropriate in the field
● Team Support and Report Management
○ Maintain communication with the team including peers, shift lead, and manager
○ Prepare precise daily shift end reports and maintain accurate records
○ Participate in Beam events providing support with valet services, assisting in staging and conducting safety reviews while ensuring the cleanliness of our vehicles
○ Additional tasks may be assigned related to the day to day job needs
