Role Overview:

We are looking for an execution-focused Senior Business Operations Manager to support our next phase of growth. As the first member of our business operations team, you will partner closely with our COO and executive team to define and drive critical initiatives across the company. The ideal candidate combines deep analytical thinking with strong communication skills to influence change and deliver results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This high-impact role reports to the COO and provides an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our business.

In this role, you will…

Business Performance Management

  • Partner with the COO and cross-functional leaders to drive the annual strategic planning process, including setting company OKRs and ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Work with leaders to translate company strategy into actionable plans and roadmaps.
  • Monitor critical business metrics and collaborate with leaders alongside business performance insights to identify priorities.
  • Partner with team leaders and data team to develop dashboards to understand the impact and operations of the business at all levels.
  • Develop materials to communicate performance insights and recommendations to the company and the leadership team.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure strong alignment and buy-in on key initiatives and performance goals.

Cross-functional strategic initiatives:

  • Systematically identify and prioritize the highest-impact opportunities to drive improvements in our business.
  • Scope and lead cross-functional initiatives and collaboration to drive business results.
  • Embed continuous improvement practices across functions and drive operational excellence across the company.

The background we're looking for...

  • 6+ years of experience in a high-growth startup environment, business operations, or management consulting (ideally 2+ years in the business operations or Chief of Staff function in a high growth start-up).
  • Strong business acumen and experience driving strategic planning.
  • Excellent analytical skills and expertise in leveraging data to uncover insights and drive decisions.
  • Exceptional communication with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives from start to finish.
  • Highly collaborative with a passion for working across teams to drive results.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Looker) preferred.

The provided range reflects our US target salary range for this full-time position, which is part of our broader total compensation package, including stock options, comprehensive benefits, and incentive pay applicable to eligible roles. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.
