The Role:

As the Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the success of our health tech digital products. You will be the bridge between our US-based business and product management teams and our engineering team in India. You will be responsible for interpreting the product roadmap, prioritizing features, crafting user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and overseeing the development process from concept to launch. This role requires exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills as you navigate the complexities of an onshore-offshore team dynamic.

This role is required to work in office for 3 days a week. In the short term (first few months till the team achieves autonomy), this role is required to work between 12pm IST to 9pm IST (to provide sufficient overlap with our Global teams in the UK and USA. In the mid to long term, we envision operating in regular Indian business hours with flexibility.

Overview of the Role:

  • Product Vision and Strategy:
    • Partner with the US-based product manager to understand the overall product vision and strategy.
    • Translate the product vision into a clear and actionable roadmap for the India-based product engineering team.
    • Prioritize backlogs based on user needs and business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Manage communication and expectations between the US-based business/product team and the India-based engineering team.
    • Facilitate regular meetings and discussions to ensure alignment on priorities, progress, and roadblocks.
    • Proactively identify and address potential roadblocks or concerns from stakeholders on both sides.
  • Project Management and Coordination
    • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
    • Conduct regular reviews and inspections to verify deliverables meet quality requirements and client expectations.
    • Prepare regular status reports, progress updates, and other project documentation for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as design, development, QA, and marketing to ensure a seamless product development process.
    • Gather input and feedback from all stakeholders to inform product decisions.
    • Foster a collaborative and transparent work environment across geographical boundaries.
  • User Story Creation & Acceptance Criteria:
    • Work with the product manager to break down product features into user stories.
    • Clearly define acceptance criteria for each user story to ensure successful implementation and testing.
    • Refine and iterate user stories based on feedback from stakeholders and the development team.
  • Development Process Management:
    • Prioritize user stories and features for development sprints in an Agile environment.
    • Work with the engineering team to estimate effort and timelines for each story.
    • Track progress against the product backlog and iterate based on new information or changing priorities.
    • Monitor and manage risks associated with product development.

In this role you will…

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the health tech or related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing product development lifecycles from concept to launch.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively bridge geographical and cultural divides.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing demands.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, and product backlog management.
  • Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Devops, Clickup) is required.

  • Proven career stability will be respected.
  • Working knowledge of Mobile and Web applications products.
  • Exposure working with start-up companies is a plus, especially with healthcare technology company.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in the healthcare industry pertinent to the USA market including HIPPA, PHI, PII protocols.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team environment
